Peter Conlon, ICD.D
Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Conlon was named Chief Executive Officer of LED Roadway in August, 2014. Most recently, he was President and CEO of Nautel Ltd., a designer and manufacturer of radio frequency transmitters for commercial broadcasters. He is also Chair of the Governance Committee at Nova Scotia Community College and Chair of the Board of Precision Biologic Inc. Mr. Conlon was named Halifax Business Person of the Year in 2010, and was also listed as one of Atlantic Canada's top CEO's in 2007, 2010, 2011, and 2012.
Denis Lavoie, P.ENG, LC
Mr. Lavoie is responsible for overseeing all of the company's day-to-day operations. Denis brings more than 25 years of sales, marketing and management experience in the lighting industry. He joined LED Roadway in 2013 as Director of Business Development (Canada, Mexico and Central America) and was later appointed to Executive Vice-President of Sales & Marketing.
Mr. Lavoie graduated from l’École Polytechnique de Montréal as an Industrial Engineer. He has been an active member of the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) since 1991, and has chaired numerous committees at the local, regional and national levels. He received two Presidential Awards. and after eight years on the Board, he also served as President of IESNA for the 2011–2012 term.
Dave Scott, P.ENG
Vice President, Operations
Mr. Scott is responsible for overseeing LED Roadway's 55,000 square foot electronics manufacturing facility. Dave has been involved in the design, service and manufacturing of high reliability electronics for over 17 years. He started his career in the field of biomedical engineering and later moved into the manufacturing sector where he has served key roles in engineering, quality and business management. He has led his teams through multiple business mergers, start-ups and technology changes.
Mr. Scott is a graduate of the Dalhousie University Electronics Engineering program and a long-standing member of the Nova Scotia Association of Professional Engineers.
Pat O'Neill, B.COMM, CMA
Vice President, Finance
Mr. O’Neill is responsible for the oversight of all financial reporting requirements. Mr. O’Neill joined LED Roadway as the Controller in 2011. He has over 17 years of experience working in various companies including large multi-national organizations as well as smaller entrepreneurial operations in Nova Scotia. His manufacturing experience has included work in both the aerospace and ship building industries.
Mr. O'Neill is a graduate of Saint Mary’s University where he received his Bachelor of Commerce degree as well as a Diploma in Management Accounting. He received his Certified Management Accountant designation in 1996 from the Nova Scotia Society of Management Accountants.
Vice President, Sales International
Mr. Libis is responsible for managing the sales organization, implementing sales strategies, and directly developing key accounts/projects across all sales related functions. Leveraging over 15 years of senior level business development, sales, and marketing experience, from a variety of industries, including consumer goods, information technology, banking, finance, and capital equipment, Mr. Libis brings a wealth of knowledge to develop profitable, sustainable business opportunities. Mr. Libis holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Wilfrid Laurier University, Ontario and a Bachelor of Science from Acadia University, Nova Scotia.
Curtis Cartmill, PMP, MCPM, MMATH, BSC
Chief Information Officer
Mr. Cartmill has worked in project management, information technology, process improvement, finance, and operations roles. Prior to joining LED Roadway, he spent over six years at the IBM Pacific Development Center in Vancouver, British Columbia as a Project Manager and Software Developer in the Transportation, Banking and Finance, and Telecommunications industries.
Mr. Cartmill was certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP®) by the Project Management Institute (PMI). He completed a Masters Certificate in Project Management from Saint Mary's University and the Schulich Institute, holds a Masters in Mathematics from the University of Waterloo, and graduated from Dalhousie University with a B.Sc. Honours.
Ken Cartmill, BA
Vice President, Product Development
Mr. Cartmill is responsible for all product development initiatives, technology partnerships, and the evolution and execution of the company’s technology vision. Ken has been with the organization for 13 years and has held various business development positions prior to his current role. He began his career in a variety of sales roles at BlackBerry.
Mr. Cartmill holds a bachelor's degree from Wilfrid Laurier University, where he studied Psychology and Business Administration.
Cindy McGuire, P.ENG
Vice President, Manufacturing
Ms. McGuire has a wealth of experience serving in senior roles in product development, manufacturing management, and lean manufacturing process development. Cindy is responsible for manufacturing operations, including planning, training and support.
Cindy has been with LED Roadway since 2006, and has been a driving force behind the development of a lean manufacturing culture.
Cindy is a professional industrial engineer and a graduate of Dalhousie University, Halifax, NS.
Ms. Sparks brings over 20 years of quality management experience. Prior to joining LED Roadway she held management positions in the aerospace, telecommunications and electronics industries. While in the telecommunications industry, Marcia was responsible for Global Advanced Quality Product Planning. As Quality Manager, Marcia is responsible for management of all quality initiatives and programs, including ISO 9001 certifications and certified RoHS compliant manufacturing.
Ms. Sparks holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Mount Saint Vincent University and a Certificate in Quality Assurance from the University of Manitoba.
Human Resources Manager
Ms. Dixon has over 15 years of experience in the manufacturing sector, specifically in the areas of Finance & Human Resources. Ms. Dixon joined LED Roadway in early 2014 and is responsible for recruitment, organizational planning & training. Ms. Dixon is a graduate of the University of New Brunswick, Bachelor of Business Administration (Accounting major) program and University of New Brunswick/New Brunswick Community College, Human Resources Management Program.
Vice President, Sales International
Mr. Miranda joined LED Roadway in 2010 as Director of Business Development. He has since transitioned into the current role of Vice President of International Sales – Latin America. As a versatile, dedicated and enthusiastic business professional, Marcos utilizes his strategic decision making and corporate planning abilities to continuously enhance the organization’s competitiveness abroad.
Marcos brings over 20 years of international experience and is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. He holds an Executive MBA (St. Mary’s University, Halifax, NS, Canada), a Bachelor in Business Administration (UFRJ, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) and a Bachelor in Mathematics (ESA University, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil).
