Take a tour around the Model Town of an evening and take note of Maple Drive. There is something distinctly different about the quality of light filtering down from the streetlights on the little crescent off Ash Street.
Unlike the patchy, orange haze put out by high-pressure sodium streetlights, Maple Drive is lit by LEDs, which provide a light that is almost pure white. Not only does this improve visibility, according to the fixture's manufacturer LED Roadway Lighting Ltd, but also provide 65 per cent of average energy savings over traditional streetlights.

LED Roadway is being given a trial run across this continent and Annapolis Royal will soon have LED Roadway Lightning in their community."
