Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada

LED Roadway Lighting Ltd. (LRL) has selected Sony UK to manufacture lighting fixtures to meet the demands of the rapidly expanding UK and European market.

With energy savings of between 50% to 80% and the most reliable power supply in the industry (independently tested to Telcordia SR-332), LRL has a highly competitive product to bring to the UK market.
Steve Dalton, managing director of the Sony UK Technology Centre, said: "We are always keen to expand our capability and third party manufacturing offers a great opportunity to diversify into new markets and new technology. We are delighted to be working with LRL, which has a great product and great potential.” The move to add manufacturing capabilities in the UK follows on from the success of a dedicated UK based sales team and subsequent installations in the city of Salford and Briton Ferry Bridge, in Wales.
Huw Convery, Director of Business Development - UK with LRL commented on the partnership with Sony, adding, “It is a centre of excellence and surpassed every other manufacturer in terms of quality which is an area that we cannot afford to compromise on. Its location on the M4 corridor is perfect and it also has a fantastic distribution network.”
