![]() Many off the shelf power supplies have been designed to accommodate a wide range of loads and input voltages at a value price in order for the manufacturer to meet a larger portion of a market. This can come at the expense of reducing quality/reliability and efficiency in the effort to produce an all-in-one supply at the lowest cost possible. Our custom built power supply allows the design to be optimized to the load it is powering, maximizing efficiency, power factor, and load/line regulation.
Our power supply is designed with high MTBF(Mean Time Between Failures) components (ex. automotive and aircraft grade devices) something that is not typical in the ‘off the shelf’ power supplies often used in LED lights. Our power supplies have carefully selected high temperature rated, high MTBF rated, components and they preclude the use of opto-couplers and commercial grade electrolytic capacitors, since they are known to have relatively low MTBF’s and performance degradation. The power supply was also designed to withstand high levels of vibration (tested to 100,000 cycles at 5 Hz (typical bridge and overpass frequencies) at 60 Hz as well as ANSI C136.31-2001) and has undergone accelerated temperature cycling between -40°C/ -40° and 85°C/185°F |
