Satellite series
The LED Roadway Lighting Ltd.’s Satellite Series is an LED-based roadway light fixture. It is designed to seamlessly replace existing ‘cobra head’ high-pressure sodium (HPS) or metal halide (MH) roadway lights. The Satellite Series has been designed for long life expectancy, offering lighting levels to suit roadway requirements and energy efficiency over HPS and MH, providing the user with significant savings in the cost of ownership.
The fixture housing (patent pending) is constructed from die-cast aluminum (K-Alloy), and all mechanical hardware is stainless steel. The pole mount feature allows leveling of ±8° from the horizontal and conforms to ANSI C136.3-1995, accepting both 1.25” and 2” poles. Both the optics and the power supply are O-ring sealed and isolated for IP66 (ingress protection) classification. This protects the optics and the electronics from dust, debris, and water spray.
Custom designed optics (patent pending) provides an IES Type II distribution (Type III available March 2009). The fixture meets IESNA RP-8-05 guidelines for luminance and veiling luminance, and CSA guidelines (C653) for optical performance. An IES File from an Independent Testing Laboratory (ITL) is available upon request.
The Satellite Series has been designed to comply with a variety of safety and environmental standards, including RoHS, WEEE, Energy Star for SSL Luminaires, International Dark Sky Association, UL 8750, UL 1598, and CSA 22.2 No. 250.
